I gather you need a raod going from your city to the AI city so that you may trade some luxuries etc.

However, when i try to build a road to one of his cities the AI tells me to get off his land ?

How do I establish a trade route then ?

Cheers

agree to a right of passage agreement or you could build a harbour in one of your cities and wait till one of there cities builds a harbouron the same coastline

Just send one worker to work on the road. AI is more patient with less units in their lands. But a quicker way is build a habour.

If my rep with the civ who tells me to leave their territory is decent, polite and better, then I tell them that my troops will leave their territory and simply continue to have my workers construct a road to their nearest city, most often they give me plenty of time to do this before giving me a final warning.

A tip: have your workers team up so they have the road finished the fastest.
