Having just gotten C3C, I installed it and the latest patch I could find (1.20). I started up a game, and got something really odd. Was playing the russians, and so, it told me I started with Pottery, Bronze Working, and Radio. Bit of a double take there, although I must say I was disappointed when my worker wasn't able to build radio towers yet. I also noticed that in the Industrial Age tech tree, there was an empty spot where Radio should've been.

The other problem I had took a while longer to manifest. I was playing along all happily and everything, but when I got to Map Making, I realized that not only did they take the trading of World Maps away (I saw that in the instruction booklet), I didn't have the ability to trade Territory Maps either! So I started looking for anything that would let me trade Territory Maps, but to no avail.

Anyone know why Radio acted weird, and how to trade Territory Maps in 1.20?

Thanks in advance.

Trading Maps(World and Territory) in c3c now require the tech Navigation.

In the new patches the tech Radio has been removed.
As for the listing of Radio at the start, this bug has been removed in the 1.22 patch.
Radio Towers now require Advance Flight.

upgrade ur C3C to 1.22 pacth but not the standalone pacth 1.22 , the fix pacth 1.22 for the 1.20 since u allready have the 1.20 pacth, that should take care of the russians or any other civ u play with in the start technology with radio, and also the empty spot in thech tree in the industrial age too.

as for the the trading maps (territtory or world) u have to wait till navigation.
and radio towers will require advance flight to be able to build them.

hope that helped

Ok, got it guys.

Shame you can't trade territory maps until Navigation, though. When I read the instruction booklet, since it only mentioned the trading of world maps being moved to Navigation, I thought that you could still trade territory maps with Map Making. But I guess not.

Thanks for the help!

Okay, a problem has arisen.

Installed 1.22 no problem. Went to load the game I was playing and return to conquering the Aztecs. Problem is, it won't load the game.

Normally, I wouldn't think this as a real "bug", considering it is a different version of the game. However, I remember reading somewhere that the versions of Civ3 are (should be) backwards compatible.

Is there any way to continue that save without deleting and then reinstalling Civ3?

If you rerun the 1.22 patch it will uninstall the 1.22 patch and then you can reinstall the old patch that you were using. 1.22 is meant to be compatable with 1.20 saves but I haven't been able to get it to work yet others have. This is annoying for PBEMs as it means I am going to have to keep on switching between versions...

Gotcha. Thanks.
