I would like to start doing a french translation of the mod. I saw where most of the files are located, so is it possible just adding the new text between the <Language_FR_FR> tags or it would require more coding then to be implemented ?
And second question : Is there other files to translate than xml files ?

Good idea :)

No coding needed, you can add directly the translation between the <Language_FR_FR> tags.

And second question : Is there other files to translate than xml files ?
There may be some hardcoded text, we can hunt them when the initial translation is done.

There are also some text tags in a few XML files like NewPromotions.xml or NewProjects.xml, but I will move them to a new Text___.xml or to the existing Texts.xml.

I'd suggest to put all the translated text from all files in that one BTW, it will then be easier to create a separate TextsFrench.xml with all the translated texts in the next version of the mod.

And translations for other language are welcome too (credits will be given of course, as anything put in the mod...)

I've translated NewProjects.xml, NewPromotions.xml, Texts.xml, TextBuildings.xml, TextCivilizations.xml and TextUnits.xml (I just need to read again to correct), but I don't know how to do now for NewMinorCivs.xml, NewBuildings.xml, and NewCivilizations.xml.
And you suggest to put all the translated texts in one file, so you want me to create a file where I just put all the translations, without particular order ?

Yep, just try to keep them grouped by section (project, promotion), it will be easier for later editing.

I'll add a TextFrenchTranslation.xml in next release to put all texts, for now just put all of them at the end of Texts.xml

and thank you of course :)

I have doubts for some translations, so I need some help please :

For Gedemon (in the file NewProjects.xml) :
- for the description of the Yak-7, it is written it's a two seat fighter, so do you mean "chasseur à 2 places" ? because in this case, it's false.
- for some projects it is written that they are "free", so do you mean "gratuits" or "libres" ?

For all French :
- what's the translation of : "double-baffle muzzle brake" ?
- to translate "Dreadnought", I used "Croiseur de Bataille", but do you see a better translation ?
- for "howitzer-gun", I used "canon d'artillerie", maybe "obusier" or something else could be better ?
- for "field-gun", I used "canon anti-char", do you see something else ?
- for "cruiser tank", I used "char rapide", do you see something better ?

Here's what I did for now. Not everything is translated but It don't seem to be the same method for the other files (there is no <Language_en_US>...).

Oups missed that...

The Yak-7 was initially a 2-seats training plane, but flying in combat with only the pilot, the second position being empty or filled with a gas tank in the B version.

You can keep "dreadnought" as it's a class based on the ship of that name.

I'd use "obusier" for "howitzer-gun" and "canon de campagne" for "field gun"

both "char de cavalerie" or "char rapides" are okay for "cruiser tank"

Thanks for the file already, I'll have to take out of the core files the hardcoded texts, we'll have to make a list of those.

Ok. So which software would you like to use for the translation (Word, Notepad...) ? (because I have to gather all the texts so it would be better if I don't have to change the software used)

Here's the file with the texts. You have to replace only the texts in black (except terms inside {} and [] ) with the polish translation. Tell me if you have problems...

I'm going to put all text in one file too, I'll post the new Text version ASAP (there are texts from v.39 that I want to add to Achille44's US/English file, and I'll also do a bit of reorganization in it)

Here are the updated and reorganized files (including a small fix to the french file related to the interception text)

the English file is updated to v.39 beta1, but there may be more change in v.39 beta2, just so you now if you update the French file.

And there is a German file with just some of the pedia texts, if someone want to do the rest...

edit: re-uploaded attachement

Don't worry, I'm not dead. There are few major problems I can't solve. Are there any Pole? I want to write message to Poles: "Potrzebuję pomocy w rozprawieniu się z problemem odmiany rzeczownika. 1. Osoby. Czyli: w kodzie, jak i w samym modzie napisane jest że np. Twój Bf 109 zniszczył Spitfire.
Ale co jeśli jest to rodzaj żeński? Twoja Matilda II zniszczyła Panzer III.
2. Przypadki. Tu też problem jest. Bo Twój He 111 zniszczył Churchilla, a nie Churchill..."
There are few minor problems too, but I solve them, when I post files here.
PS: I have problems with the mod. I posted problem in troubleshooting topic and nobody answered. :<
