Transport Bug ?

I've looked over these forums(which I love, learned alot) since the release of Civ 4, trying to find out if there's a solution to this problem I'm having, to no avail. It's been in all versions since release for me. Everything works, as far as I know, except the transport unit. My transports are invisible unless they have an unspent promotion to glow them. When they are selected, there are no buttons to see to give them commands/promotions. but using the right hot key will let you do that though.

When I try to build a transport, it screws up my city interface screen, so that there is no information about anything. I have to tab into another city to get out of it. When transports are on the screen, their sound effect is so much louder than anything else (come to think, oil wells do that too, possibly) Also the civilopedia entry for transports is entirely blank, so far the only blank page i've seen in it.

Has anyone else experienced this? Have any ideas for solutions? Am I trollbait for not being able to find anything about this for 3 months ? Should this thread be in the bug reports?

Its a big forum easy to miss some things, never be afraid to post

Its too easy to see something as a Bug of course - although in this case it may well be, not heard of this one before. Assuming the rest of the Interface is solid with no problems and your Video side appears stable, it might be an idea to post it on the Bug thread.

Firaxis will see it there - they do monitor this board regularly to pick up the current 'mood' out there and common issues, but you would not get a specific reply (it may not be a bug ....)

Are these problems just for transports, or do they affect any other unit? If it's just transports it sounds like something has been corrupted as I haven't heard of a problem like this before. If it is this then reinstalling should fix it.

Thanks for the advice I'll try a reinstall, see if that helps.
