There are links at the bottom for 60 more tutorials.
To be honest I only glanced over a few of these but from the titles, it seems like they cover a lot ground. There's theoretical stuff, but also a lot of practical, not all of it is for max and the stuff that's for max is for older versions but most of the tutorials deal with such generic and commonplace (but very useful) things that regardless of what software is used in the tutorial it all can be done in max with minimum effort.
I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to get into modeling for civ4 and just in general. Check out lesson 52 - low poly head modeling. It uses a different software (i.e. not max) to go through it but the stuff done is on one hand simple enough to trivially adapt it to max, but also covers a lof of the basics of modeling.
