Will the "tribute warfare" work in civ 1? I mean can we take advantage of demanding tributes?

You can get some tribute... But only when you're much more powerful.

Sometimes it works, at low levels.
At higher levels you're more likely to get war.

Completely off topic: I just won my first game at emperor level! Tried it a few times before and got a royal ass spanking but this time after haven't tried it for like a year I managed to win. Wooo!!!!

Considered yourself a lucky guy, because with me i dont get a win in prince level so.....

I wonder what of these choises gives more advantages?
1st - To conquer the weaker civilization and get all the money
-or-
2nd - To receive tributes regurally from the weaker civilization
