It ran perfectly. We finished our game, then went to sleep.
The next day, we tried to start up a new game but couldn't get things working. When trying to join his game, I got as far as "configuring game data, please wait", and then after a bit I would get booted to the main menu. Any attempts after that that did not involve me restarting civ or trying to join manually (rather than via steam invite) lead to an error message: "Error joining multiplayer session".
Apparently, he gets as far as "receiving host settings and then gets booted to the multiplayer screen, or gets the error message "Error joining multiplayer session".
Any ideas?
We are both using Civ5 with G&K, BNW, the Babylonian Civ, and both times (when we succeeded in playing together and when we failed) we ran using the dx10/11 option.
We're both using Windows 8
