So, we’re in Moderm Age. What should we research? At first stage, we need tanks and modern aviation, so we need
Armored Warfare (already known to Germans) and
Advanced Flight (that we should discover as soon as possible). After we’ll build some tanks (imho, 5-10 of them will be more than enough) we’ll finish the “unification” of North America.
At second stage (after the Advanced Flight and before
Satellites) we’ll have the Statue of Liberty & our science spendings may be reduced to almost zero. All the new techs we’ll anyway get from foreigners.
At thrid stage (after the Statue of Liberty will become obsolete) we’ll increace the science spendings again… by this time, we should already have the reach treasury and poverfull industry to fast creation of starship:

Chapter 8
Reach to stars (1930 – 2029 CE)
An excerpt from “Mayan History. A brief guide for students” by prof. Two Clouds. Published in Chichen Itza, 2050 CE.
“…Third decade of XX century was the time of permanent financial troubles. Almost empty treasury combined with a deficit budget have forced National Assembly to sold some technologies to foreigners:

It was also the time of growing social discontent and insecurity, time of charismatic and talented demagogues, one of which won the presidential elections in 1942 CE and became our leader for long years. Ironically, almost nobody remember the real name of this leader. We remember him as just “El-patron”.

It’s clear that El-patron was incredibly popular until the very end of his rule. Nobody denies his concern for the common people or his military talents. At the same time, we can’t ignore his deep religiosity, mysticism and hate to modern science. His first step as president was reduction of spendings on “useless loafers” – Mayan scientists: “We already know everything what God allowed us to know… nothing more and nothing less”.
In 1942 CE, God allowed us to know the
Advanced Flight and
Armored Warfare (taken from Arabia in excange for Advanced Flight). In the same year, El-patron allocated funds for the construction of five armored brigades. 6 years later, those brigades were created and…
In 1948 CE, USM declared war on America.
The Third Maya-American war (1948-1952 CE) was short and almost bloodless (for Maya, of course… but for American crossbowmen and pikemen this war turned into nightmare).
Miami was captured in 1950 CE,
Boston – two years later. America has been wiped off from the world map:
The next target was the League of Iroquois. War was declared in 1954 CE, just two years after the fall of America.
In 1956 CE Mayan troops captured
Salamanka and
Tonawanda, four years later (in 1960 CE) they also totally destroyed small settlements
Niagara Falls and
Allegheny. This “massacre of innocents” caused a huge storm of indignation among liberal intellectuals… and storm of patriotic enthusiasm among the common people.
To be honest, we also need to mention that some military operations ended with shameful defeat. For example, one of Mayan armored brigades was totally destroyed by enemy Tomahawk Warriors near the Niagara Falls. How could this happen at all? This “battle of tomahawks” is still remain the big mystery for modern historians.
Really, how? How can Tomahawk Warrior defeat Tank? Can someone explain it to me?
One way or another, but the Iroquois were defeated. Only to prevent further deaths, El-patron agreed to accept the peace treaty and USM got
Oil Springs and
Kattaraugus. So ended the Iroquois Campaign… In the same 1962 CE Irouois and Germany signed a trade embargo against USM, so Germany lost our supllies of Rubber!

In 1960 CE, USM began its second campaign against Aztlan. During 10 years (1960 - 1970 CE) all the remaining Aztec cities (
Texcoco,
Tenochtitlan and
Teotihuacan) were annexed and Aztec rulers were sent to the dustbin of history, just like their American collegues 18 years ago.
And finally, in 1974 CE, El-patron sent his forces to the last Iroquois city
Grand River. During the short two-year campaign, Iroquois were also defeated:
Even before the end of those wars, El-patron ordered to create the magnificent monument – so-called
Statue of Liberty in former American capital Washington. This statue was supposed to symbolize the freedom and progress of North American nations under the Mayan rule. In 1964 CE, this monument was completed (

Mayan science also did not stand still. After the death of El-patron, his weak political successors were quickly replaced with another, more peacefull and reasonable faction. New coalition government, consisting of centrists and left-wing liberals, increased the science spendings back to 50-60%.

And so ended the XX century. For the first time in world history, all the peoples of North and Central America has been merged into one rich, free and prosperous society. Our people were proud of their past and look with hope into the future. And suddenly, like a bolt from the blue…
In 2004 CE, four German units landed on American soil near Washington. After the question “What are doing here, friends? This is not your land. Why don’t you just go home, to Fatherland, to your Bavarian beer, frankfurters and your frauen?”
Germans declared war on USM!
There are many books, movies and special scientific works, dedicated to this great war. There are well known names of dictators and generals, heroes and traitors. You’re all know about millions of deaths, about concentration camps and destroyed cities (Amsterdam – the largest, but not the olny of them)… but, as for Maya, our country was barely hurt by all these events. After the last German soldier on our soil was killed, Mayan diplomats made some efforts to create the Anti-German coalition. Some nations were happy to join our war.
- France for Rocketry (2004 CE)
- Netherlands for Radio (2004 CE)
- Russia for Trench Warfare (2005 CE)
In the same 2005 CE, hovewer, Germany also forced Portugal to attack us! One year later, in 2006 CE Arabs also entered into this war on German side… Mayan forces were clearly not sufficient to war in Europe, so our generals choosed the more humble and realistic strategy:
During 2005-2006 CE, USM got three new technologies:
Marxism,
Nuclear Power and
Satellites, but it was clear that Statue of Liberty will not play the same role in future.
In 2007 CE, our diplomats managed to convince the England to enter the war on our side for the newly discovered technology of
Miniaturization. Since that time, the German fleet didn't disturb us anymore… Germans, other hand, have involved Romans…
In the same year, Mayan troops captured the Portugal colony
Coimbra in South America, but that was the only their success. German colonies were fortified very well, so our forces had to retreat with heavy losses.
The next five years of war were quiet (for USM, not for Germany). But in the Old World, war became more and more bloody. The more and more nations joined this madness, the more and more republican governments were replaced with authoritarian and fascist dictatorships. Scandinavia and Austria entered war on our side, Zulu – on German side…
That’s why the whole world was shocked after the
Maya-German peace treaty of 2012 CE. The more, former enemies exchanged their technologies: newly discovered
Robotics for German secret technology of
Laser. Some of our allies even went so far, that accused USM for “betraying the ideals of coalition”. But the main goal of any government is protection of its own national interests, and not war for empty abstractions...
In the same year, Robotics was sold to British for 106 gold and 183 gpt
Peace treaties with German allies were signed from 2014 to 2024 CE. Anyway, none of those countries didn’t pose a real threat to USM. War in the Old World still continues, but it wasn't our business anymore…
And now we come to the most important event in Mayan and World History. As all of you know, in the early XXI century, one of our orbital telescopes made a shocking a promising discovery: couple of earth-like planets, orbiting Alpha Centaury. Further studies have allowed us to detect oxygen in their spectra… This is, probably, the main reason of why Maya weren’t interested in dirty and bloody European wars. Tiny pieces of land here or there means nothing compared to whole Universe, full of new worlds:

Superconductor, five years later –
Ecology, and another five years later - the
Genetics, while
Totalitarianism and
Stealth were gained through diplomacy. But those discoveries have not been as important as before… the lion share of science and production capacities has been focused on creation of giant photon starship on the Earth’s orbit.
And now,
in the year 2029 CE, after more than a decade of hard work and sleepless nights, our starship is ready to start, and our story coming to its glorious and epic end. And we have nothing more to say about the deeds of Maya.
