Trouble with menu.

When I load up Civ IV, it goes straight to the first menu screen. No music plays at this point and the options I can select from do not appear. The "go back" option in the bottom left does not appear either. Does anyone know what the problem might be? I'm hoping I don't have to reinstall the game.

EDIT: I forgot to add, I am actually able to click the options. I just can't see them. Just the blue background they're on.

Have you recently patched the game and/or installed mods?
For the missing intro, have you edited ini file to disable intro movies?
Try the following:
- remove custom assets directories
- erase civ cache
- or the infamous: uninstall, erase all leftover game folders, reinstall, repatch

I've already done 3, but thank you anyway.

I've only lost like one game I was playing, and I wasn't gonna finish it anyway. So no big loss.
