Trouble with mod

Hi all -

I created a mod for me and a couple friends to use to play on our LAN, but I've run into a problem. It ran with no problems on vanilla installs for every machine, including my old laptop, but on my new laptop, vanilla install, I am instantly defeated. Black screen and no chance to ever play. Anyone have any ideas?

New OS - 7 or 8? Did install in the default location? Did you use run as administrator to install?
New OSs are temperamental with mods if installed in the default location and the game often doesn't install properly if you don't use run as administrator. Have a look at kwitt's guide in the stickied thread - installing under Vista/Win 7 which is also appropriate for Win 8

Yep, Win7, installed-as-admin. That's what has me so confused.
