I had to reload from an autosave once due to a power outage. Luckily the power went out at the start of that turn before I could do anything, so I didn't have to worry about replaying any moves.

I used 3 artists to expand my borders far enough south to grab the 2 oil and aluminum. One got me the first oil and the other two, from building the Louvre, get me to the aluminum.

I had a bunch of RAs, which helped a lot, but I know I could have done a lot better and finished a lot faster if I hadn't made some mistakes here and there.

I was relatively pleased with this effort, although I could have finished about 10 turns sooner if I hadn't mismanaged my last GS, and saved him for nanotechnology. I didn't consider building academies, thinking that bulbing was the better option. I need to read more on optimizing RA use.

I settled in placed and prioritized growth and getting the GL, NC, and HG built. No major diplomatic problems with AI. Germany declared war early in the game, but I had a couple of War Elephants for defense, so his warriors and archers weren't much of a threat. I allied with most of the neighboring CS who formed a nice defensive barrier with the AIs to the West. I had plenty of production by the time I built the spaceship parts. By the end of the game Delhi was at 34 pop. Based on some of the other submissions, I probably should have tried to do better than that (more maritime CS allies).

Have been without a Civ-playable computer for 3 weeks since my old machine died. Finally received my new high-end system 4 days ago, only to suffer 24h power outage after a storm!!! I suspect my wife orchestrated all the above events to keep me free in the run-up to Xmas. Finally managed to start this game 2 days ago in fits and starts. Surprisingly rusty (forgot some basic rules) but worked my way through along similar lines to most other players. Playing out the final Tech sprint was more difficult than I anticipated because I had no spare RA so needed to keep all AI onside whilst world war was breaking out around me. I am not a great lover of OCC but this game was very useful in helping me understand more about the mechanics of RA "medians".

Not sure if TSG25 is possible for me due to other commitments, but Merry Xmas everyone!!

This was the first game I built SoL as far as I remember:- it seemed to give 2 hammers per specialist, rather thanthe listed one. Can anyone explain?

I'm sure she did, but at least she allowed you a new system to play on! :woohoo:

Have not done results yet, see if the submission system will take it?

Good Luck.

And :xmassign: to you as well.

:xmastree:

Thanks for the chance, but my upload disappeared into the ether so the system must have closed. No worries.
