TSG26 Game in Progress

Great start Ribannah. I missed the GL at 5 turns of completion at turn 38 ready to pop for civil service. But i also researched currency before education. Got education at turn 78. I hope you will find AIs with enough :c5gold: to sign RAs.

I'm not counting on much help from the AI. ;)

Seeing the Great Library go a few turns before completion is ugly. On this level, you can do fine by not building it at all, but the wasted turns aren't well compensated by the failure gold.

Turns 66-104

Scientific Theory was discovered this turn, and the countdown begins. We have 26 techs to go before Globalization. :)

Of course, by now we have long found everyone. England, Aztecs, India and Persia share a continent that doesn't seem to offer enough room for all to survive. Even so, the entire center is still undeveloped. If we weren't in a hurry, we could swim over and claim it. :mischief:

So far the City States have not offered any decent quests. Arabia - they started with the cash from El Dorado and are sitting on an ocean of Cotton - is gobbling them up, so we'd better pay attention to our treasury. In fact four City States are way into the red from when Arabia declared on us on turn 93. Not that they got anywhere. We upgraded our lone Warrior to Swordsman, built a Trireme in 1 turn and a Trebuchet. The Trireme alone killed most of the Arabian units since for reasons only known to them, they kept falling into the water. :p

Not much cash was around for research agreements. We signed just two, on turn 85. Hopefully the next round will be better.

The choice of settling Atlanta on the Silver is working out nicely. It has two sources of Iron! If only the Arabs had been more decent about this. No Coal, but that popped up near Philadelphia.

Washington is now size 17, thanks to the Hanging Gardens. The total headcount is 58. Of course, happiness remains a concern.

Science output is already growing nicely, with the policies from the rationalism tree. We have four Great Scientists sitting around, waiting to get sacrificed in the Big Spurt. :D

- What were your initial priorities?
Get decent city placement. I got that but was a bit slow and kept getting distracted by wonders. Will only settle 5 cities on conitnet as very spread out. I licked someones idea about settling near mountain for observatory.
- What Social Policies did you choose and why? I did full liberty for expansion. then moved on to partonage.
- What tech path did you follow? GL for civil service. Then used a GS for astronomy, now heading for banking for FP but unsure if I need it I am very happy. Found everyoen first peria is better than me in score.
- Did you prioritize any Wonders?GL then missed HG then got oracle, then a notre dame and porcelain tower. unsure if any of them are any good. MP for gold as well. Missed CI as well by 3 turns.
- How does the smaller map size and quick game speed affect your strategy? Unsure tbh. lots of city-states so I am

Spread out on island then went exploring. decided on astronomy with first GS unsure abotu next GS. Turn 112. Unsure which Naitonal wonders to go for as havent built any.

Spoiler :
Sorry I dont know where to post this. I have built the UN and it has counted down from 10 but there was no vote. Is it because I am at war with one. Or do I need to repss something when the counter on the globe in the top right is at zero?

Just after that it trigger a vote and I won sorry.

There was jsut confusion how a diplomatic victory was won, sorry for posting.

Settled S on river hill and took Liberty path. Built scout, monument, granary, GL, settler IIRC. Given the isolated start, decided to expand quickly and established a 5-city continent (New York to NE, then Boston to SE and others on W coast). Beelined to Astronomy using standard HS-ND-PT gambit and set up RA on contact with all AI. Have completed 7 RA (including 3 with Arabia) at turn 138. Darius is the main competitor in score; he is gobbling up Monty. No CS on board yet, so culture is a weak area alongside military. Went straight from Liberty to Rationalism. Building a couple of Minutemen to deter AI attacks.
