Well, I was checking the forums one last time before starting to play, and at the request of peter grimes :salute:, I have started a thread for this turn as well.

Away we go...

[party] I'm here and will check in from time to time!

(Aren't you glad?!? ;) )

Black Hole completes cavalry, starts cavalry.
Virtuoso completes cavalry, starts cavalry.
EMP City completes cavalry, starts cavalry.
Meleagerville completes cavalry, starts cavalry.
The Two Rivers completes barracks, starts cavalry.
Antville completes cavalry, starts cavalry.
Gorin completes barracks, starts cavalry.
Aliakmon Stronghold completes cavalry, starts cavalry.
Phoenopolis completes cavalry, starts cavalry.
Caesaria completes cannon, starts cannon.
Olympia completes cannon, starts cannon.
Filiatra completes cannon, starts cannon.
Monkey Fodder completes worker, starts worker.
Sparta completes cannon, starts cannon.

Abdera riots – I’ll deal with “the people” of Abdera later.

Rollah Coasta completes cannon, starts cannon.

Swampland riots – Let them demonstrate for all I care!

Change Athens from cavalry to colosseum.

First, wake up MDI Helenus and attack the Gallic Sword next to Eureka Stronghold before I forget. Not a scratch on our MDI before the cowardly Gallic Sword “Boy Scout” flees for his life.

Next, move our 2 caravels north to see what we are dealing with. After moving 2 tiles north, the Trusty Guppy sees a KISS boat (regular galley) 2 west. The boat’s name is the SS Arrowhead (Transport Galley).

Continuing north – Apefish has a fortified 4/4 cav on top; Dionysus is unguarded.

On the east coast, the Snarling Narwhal sees a similarly situated veteran galley (3 NE of the Snarling Narwhal’s starting point) with no name.

Nincompoopicity is defended by a fortified 4/4 pikeman.

CV Zephyrus NW-N to check out Dresden – it is unguarded! Capture Dresden and liberate 11 gold.

Move 6 workers to railroad W of Swampland.
Move 6 workers to railroad the tile N of that tile.
Move 6 workers to railroad the tile N of that one.

Find a ¼ cavalry on the rail network to scout – Gilfach is unguarded! Capture it liberating 17 gold.

Move 6 workers to railroad the tile W of the previous end point.

Find another ¼ cavalry on the rail network – SKWTD is unguarded! Capture it liberating 17 gold.

Before I forget, 1/4 CV Ocyrhoe checks out Polecat – unfortunately, it is defended by a 4/4 unfortified pike. He can’t attack, but I’m not sure anyone else can reach Polecat. He can capture a cannon, but I’ll leave him with 1 movement point for now.

Beautiful!!!

off to another good start...

I know Dionysus is unguarded, and we can reach it now, so a ¼ cav walks in and liberates 12 gold and provides a source of wine for us.

We can now see that Stoogeville is empty, so a ¼ cav walks in and adds another 12 gold to our treasury.

We can reach the undefended Paradise Hotel, so we walk in and help ourselves to 12 more gold.

If I've done this correctly...

According to Civ3 Combat Calculator:

Our odds of winning that battle are only 17.3% (0% chance of retreat)
(Unfortified 4/4 pike in a town without walls vs. a 1/4 Cavalry)

So - that's not good... but I might personally be willing to gamble on it... if all else is going well for us. Since the Cav is likely dead on KISS's next turn anyway.

I send a ¼ cav into the blackness in the NW – he discovers the undefended size 12 city of Knucklehead and claims it for the greater MIA empire (along with 18 gold).

Polecat is a city (size 10). The way the dominoes are falling in the west, we may be able to get healthy troops there before the turn is over.

Extend the railroad W-NW-N all the way to Gilfach. We’ve run out of ¼ cavalry on the rail network, so I use 2/4 to take the undefended towns of Frozen Lake (18 gold), Devil’s Soul (18 gold), and Jesterton (19 gold).

Shooting fish in a barrel…

oh - Missed that!

Ok - that takes our odds all the way down to 9.5%
Starting to sound more like suicide.

I can't believe how lightly defended KISS is!!! :wow:
This is amazing.
