Turn hanging because of blockade AND expired non-existing peace treaties

I've seen a few posts about turns hanging, but I have the cause of mine (didn't see this in my initial skim of the messages). When I run a blockade, it takes hangs a few seconds after I activate it and then is normal. But when I run a few blockades (like 5 or more), it takes a good 5-10 minutes for my turn to begin again. The sounds happen, like the trumpet of war and the gongs of people changing civics, but then it just sit and waits forever (I can't alt-tab out of it either). Once I take the blockades off, it is back to normal. NOTE, I did this with privateers.

Also, every now and then I am told that a peace treaty expired with someone I never went to war with. I have been privateering and am the apostlic palace owner, but don't think that is the reason why.

Privateers blockading, and declarations of war is exactly where my game hangs up as well.
