Turn time

For the love of all that is holy... make the turn times bearable! So many scenarios and mods are ruined by the ridicolous loading times and turn times. VERY few people have time to play these, and even fewer actually have the patience to sit around and wait for the turn to end.

So before you developers get all crazy with adding stuff and 3D goodies, make it so that I can find out whether my wonder gets created the next turn and I don't have to get a cup of coffee and read half a book while I wait!
 
the programm code of civ3 isnt very well.
the programmstyle has much more influece on the speed than u think lastcoformist.
and civ3 is realy bad. i think the problem is that everycity doubles the needed resources.
if civ4 needs more than civ3 the gmae will be unplayable. if they implement a much better graphic it wouldnt increase the problem, it would only going use the graphiccards.
the question is if they are able to developed a smart code for the ai and the citymanagment.
maybe they just used old code, since i know civ (and civ1 was my first pcgame after the c64) it gets slower with every city on a map
