Turning off overseas maintenance??

Just wondering if there is any way to turn off the new overseas maintenance factor in BTS?? Really like the game, but not so much this feature.

Turn on no vassel states or run state property.

Ok thanks dude....I'll try that. Just to be sure, by turning vassal states off will there still be the extra overseas maintenance factor? Or just the distance from the capital maintenance costs like in the Original and Warlords?

no vassals turns off the overseas (aka colony) maintenance - since you cannot liberate those colonies anymore with this setting.

Ah that's rather useful to know for me too. I was thinking of playing an islandy game but was concerned that my economy would be destroyed by overseas maintenance.
