just two random observations of the AI I made in my current game, including a question.
first: I had just taken three Incan cities near my border and had about 35 calvary units massed in two tiles. The AI sneaks a settler and spearman around them and was about to attempt to found a city on the spot I had just razed a city. Did it not occur to him that 35 calvary units were two tiles over and could see him? I had to laugh. Then I had to capture him.
second: I have read on here that it is understood that the AI knows where all the resources are and how many troops you have and their strength no matter if they are in your territor in fog of war. So yesterday, before I began the Incan attack, I began massing troops in two areas near where the Incans had cities along my territory. He had NO units along his border that could see into my territory and it was before espionage (around 500 AD) so I am not sure how but he "sensed" my troop buildup and movement (which were in cities and areas at least 3 or 4 tiles away from his borders (no mountains around either). My military advisor told me that I had a strong military compared to the Incas. I had calvary units from here to the moon, they had bowmen. Out of nowhere the INCAS launch a suprise war against me first. LOL. He didn't manage to kill one of my troops and his entire empire was smashed in short order.
How did he know an attack was imminent within 2 turns or so? the AI must truly know next to everything about the human player's actions, fog of war or not.
