two questions: Unexplained gold boosts and ROP treaty broken

Hi all,

I have two questions which may have already been discussed in length, but i am a newbie to this forum, and have yet to avail myself of that knowledge.

The thing is this: I was playing on Emperor level as Sumeria (i don't know if that info is relevant or not)...i'm cruising along, upgrading my military when and losing roughly -7 gold per turn on paper. The strange thing is...when i go to the next turn, instead of taking away -7 gold, like it says on the screen, it adds something like +250 gold??? What is this madness? Is this a glitch or is this some wacky bonus in the game?

The second question: There are times when i am not involved in any kind of Right Of Passage agreement and i simply attack someone, and no one will make any ROP agreement with me for the rest of the game, blaming me for breaking a treaty which i didn't do!

Anyway, any help with these questions would be much obliged.

Thank you.

Tancred.

Welcome to CFC the gold thing was probably due to something like a gpt deal expiring and the second question can be answered by saying that you declared war while you had units in their territory because in the eyes of the AI that is consider an ROP rape you're welcome I guess I should put some punctuation too but I won't

About the gpt thing, there is a bug in the initial release doubling the gpt you recieved from deals. So if the AI was giving you lets say 100 gpt it would say your only getting 100 gpt but you really are getting 200 gpt.

I thought that bug was fixed though, I believe it's probably what Tomoyo said, you had a GPT deal with another AI you were paying that ended. As far as the RoP thing, if you have units in THEIR territory and you declare war it's still considered an RoP rape even though you didn't have an RoP with them at the time. Make sure you don't have any active deals going with them either.

Only other explanation is the possible completion of the FP or some other wonder...

thanks for the advice all...i think it has to do with that bug, as i never had downloaded the patch for it. There was nothing else that could have explained it.

Thanks again...you're a fine bunch.

No one wants to ROP with me when I have told some one that i will get out of there territory because i am conducting routine inspections or whatever, and then declare war on them. This is because you are basically saying yes i will be good on oyur land and then not being very good on their land.

How does every other civ find out if you have been bad with a ROP if you destroy them before they have a chance to talk to another civ about it what is with that?

They don't find out. I one of the surviving civs did know them, they will pass the info to others though.

Or do you mean: you declare war and in the same turn you destroy the civ? Well, in that case I guess they could have told the world about your troops in their territory, other something like that. Anyay: as long as they don't know any other civ you are fine.

Cool thanks for the explanation Aggie
