Nothing illegal in this. Actually if you're tired having to pay a monthly fee to play on Origins servers, you can always try the numerous free shards that are available here

I have spent a lot of time on santiago, and also Obsidian Shard. People there are incredibly nice. One guy even bought me a horse, although he didn't know who I was Really a friendly world I say. If you are playing UO a lot, you might consider joining me for some nice quests

I used to play on a free shard too, but some are more limited than the official servers e.g. on the one I was on about 1/3 of the land was sealed off to reduce server load and bandwidth usage.
but apart from that it was fun and the people on it where cool

Damn damn damn correction, this game suck

I just got killed by a chicken. I was a beginner sorceror. In order to make money I had bought a fishing rod and earned money by fishing (actually my fishing skill was higher than my magic skills). Fortunately a ver nice guy gave me a horse and an armor. But still, I wanted to get XP in wresting so I started fighting a wolf. Too strong for me then I retreated, fought a raven. Too strong, so finally I challenged a chicken. I'd never imagine that 80% of my hits missed it but it kept on blowing me. Finally all my 29HP went away and I'm now a ghost. Fortunately a guy resurrected me but he was laughing at me
Damn, this game is totally stupid actually.

yes but it's not that funy this game is bugged I say, how could I be killed by a chicken. But anyway I have avenged myself last night and killed a chicken and a rabbit. The 3rd chicken was too aggressive and I only had 4HP/29 left so I ran away.

Sounds like your char is gonna be the next earth shattering archwizard

In many games your character starts out fighting small animals and worms but later in the game you're squashing dragons as if they're ants.

Yeepay, I just killed a boar, but according to the combat logs, that damn beast bit me in the groins. I lost 10 HP
Anyway I think sorcerors are really useless in this game. Indeed they can't use any weapon. Only cast spell and go fishing (so no tanning, no meat cutting!! grr. Absolutely no weapon use). And since my fishing skills are not that high it's too expensive to buy stuffs for my spells, I infer that actually a good warrior is still the best character to play. It's quite a pity, restraining so much a wizard... That's stupid So I'll start a new character I think. That was a major gameplay design mistake. Stupid designers.

Well I deleted my Warlock character and chose now an elfic race. Elf of the woods, animals tamer class. I succeeded in tamming 3 cougars, 1 grey wolf and even a brown bear. Then I killed easily a rat, 2 chickens, 1 pig and even a monkbat (improving Karma). But I got killed by a deer Those stupid pets won't assist me in killing it. I didn't know that I had to say 'attack' to any of my tammed beast for them to attack.. GRrrr. They should cover me automatically...

Why do you keep playing, though? You only seem to be frustrating yourself, so you must see something fun about it.

Well it is quite fun now, that I have discovered the way to keep clear from a battle and letting my "pets" do the work for me

Plus I meet lot of nice guys who like pets and buy them from me at a very interesting price.

Probably because wizards are almost traditionally overpowered in any RPG game; so they made it harder for a beginner wizard to start out (otherwise you'll have tons of wizards out there scorching dragons and stuff).

When I'm hungry, instead of buying expensive ham and meat I buy haystack for animals and eat them! That's dirt cheap and is fulling my stomach much quicker Yum!
