So, I create the map in editor, and when I try to find the map to move it to an emulator version, it's not there. As if I didn't save, though I did because in the editor I can load it in fine.

How do you get a leader in Vanilla, I didn't know the even exist (only in Conq)

Anyone here know if any other versions work on Exagear strategies? I currently play on vanilla, but others get wine problems (well complete at least, I can't find an edition that's not complete, anyone know any names for non steam and non complete?)

Can't help you with the main question, because I don't Linux(?). Maybe try that one in the Tech Support subforum (or Creation & Customisation, where the hardcore Civ3-modders hang out)?

Can do this one though: in Vanilla you can only get Military Great Leaders (no Scientific Leaders), and you can only get them (in unmodded Vanilla) from an Elite unit winning a battle.

IIRC, the probabilities for getting an MGL following a successful attack are 1/16 if your tribe is non-Militaristic and 1/12 if Militaristic; for winning on defence, those probabilities are halved (i.e. 1/32 and 1/24, respectively). If the Heroic Epic has been built, all probabilities of generating an MGL are increased (but I can't recall exactly how increased, maybe 1/12 and 1/8 for attacks by non-Mil and Mil tribes?).

But in Vanilla, MGLs can rush-build everything, including Great Wonders, hence the tactic of 'Leader-fishing', using your (bombardment-units plus) Elites to pick off weak(ened) enemy units.

Being militaristic does not increase the chance that elite units will be promoted, only the chances of being promoted till elite are increased by a factor of two.

It is the Heroic Epic that increases chances of getting a leader by 32/24=16/12=4/3=1.3333.

You can only gain a military great leader while you donnot have a leader.
