I have Civ 4 Complete. Having just downloaded it on to my new computer I was confronted with an error which I got previously with my old computer when trying to play for the first time. I just downloaded the latest patch which is 1.74 and the game is fine now.

There is a problem though. I only seem to have Civ 4 and do not have the option of playing the expansion packs.

Can someone tell me how to either reload the expansion packs or choose to play them?

Regards

Carl

it is possible that the installer did not create the shortcuts. Go to the install directory of the game. That should have subdirectories called Beyond the Sword and Warlords - in those subdirectories there is the required .exe - you can start the X-packs from there.

When I go to my computer and right click on the disc and then explore the disc I cannot find any .exe files. There are three folders

Autorun (which only includes bitmap images)
Direct X9
Read Me

Then there are several files including autorun (which just starts the game) and DIAG which seems to test the installed game. But nothing else of interest.

I've also check in my program files for the Installer folder and there's nothing like that. I've checked for .exe files and there are none of those.

Not really sure if I need to check somewhere else?

the game is installed on your hard drive - likely in
\program files\2k games\
or \program files\firaxis games\
those have subfolders
\civilization 4 complete\ (or similar with the .exe for the core game)
\civilization 4 complete\warlords (with the warlords .exe)
\civilization 4 complete\beyond the sword (with the bts .exe)
the reason I am so unspecific is that I do not know what the default install path fro the european complete edition is :dunno:

I have the same problem only I can play Colonization. It wont show any of the shortcuts on my desktop or under program files.

Any help would be appreciated.

Also, when you found the icons, right click and select send to- desktop (create shortcut).
