Unable to play Smoky skies scenario.

Everything loads fine for me and I am able to play the normal game as well as other DLCs (Although I've only tested "Fall of Rome" and "Rise of the Mongols"), but whenever I try to play smoky skies it simply stops as soon as I press the "Begin your Journey" button. The briefing disappears and the music continues but I am unable to click on anything. I have to use the task manager to shut the game down.

I have some mods installed ( I downloaded all of them through the steam mechanism), is it possible that they could've conflicted with game, even though I don't play the scenario through the mods menu? If not, what else could be doing that?
