unable to start up game

i recently bought the Civ IV game and installed it flawlessly but when i try to run it my computer crashes instantly and a blue STOP error screen shows up. The error message reads "A device driver attempting to corrupt the system has been caught. The faulty driver currently on the kernal stack must be replaced with a working version." The error code at the bottom is 0x000000c4. I tried uninstalling the game, updating my video drivers and havent had any luck. Some help would be greatly appreciated. P.S i have nvidia 64 mb geforce 4 mx 420, pentium 4,

Might want to try updating sound drivers too. The stop code 0xc4 indicates that windows detected some driver in your system trying to do something that it shouldn't be doing. I guess the blue screen didn't indicate which file was in violation? Also try undoing any overclocking you might be doing and try running the game again.
