Unit got stuck after capturing a city?

Japan and I both declared war on Indonesia, we both attacked and I captured th city. Because I didn;t have open border with Japan, Japanese Unit just seemed to get stuck in my territory. They never moved and blocked my road seriously that I had to gift some gold+open border to him.

Yeah that is one of the bugs that has been there from the beginning. It can happen to your own unit. It can be stuck like that as well

Just wait until you miscalculate and another civ takes a city you are attacking and YOUR troops get stuck! I have had it happen to me and had naval units stuck in foreign waters for a long time (until I declared war on them).
