is there anyway to create an icon for a unit?

sure there is!

just open \art\units\units_32.pcx into PaintShop Pro or another PCX editor

This file contains a grid with all of the unit icons. When you add unit icons, make sure that the last 8 are put back at the end. In other words, The last 8 of the original, must be the last 8 of the editted file.

If you want to create an icon for a user created unit that you downloaded that didn't come with a city build icon just use the units small civilopedia icon and edit it with paint shop pro . I do this by either changing the background color to match the units_32.pcx file background and then just pasting it to fit in one of the open unit spaces, or by just cutting the unit itself out of the picture and pasting it into the appropriate space. Make sure the original last eight units are always on the end in the units_32.pcx file. If you still need help reply and I will help you more.

Your are absolutely right. I do apologize for my previouse post that contained teen xxx banners and that warez site. I didn't even think about it before I added the link. I guess I have just gotten used to those stupid banners popping up while I surf that site and didn't even consider the fact that not everyone is comfortable viewing that sort of content. But in my own defense, you have to accept the fact that while the banners ARE a pain, if you expect to recieve something for free you shouldn't complain about the way in which it is given to you.
