Unit Preview - Grunt

The Grunt is an upgrade from the Infantry Unit. It represents the common soldier in the modern army, beginning around 1970.

Attached below is the default image. It is a simple conversion from the marine, I just removed his sleaves and darkened the green of his uniform.

Here is the storyboard so you can get some sort of idea of what this thing looks like.

on a sad note: my 60 day trial of paintshop just expired and now I can't convert color palletes. I don't want to re download the demo, arehere any other smaller program out there that can load palletes? that is the only function I used from that program, otherwise I use Adobe Photoshop for most of my artwork needs.

thanks for any help on the pallette issue.

until I get a program that will convert the pallette back to the original unit pallette I can't finish this Unit.

Tell you what, get the animation done and I will help with compile it with the palette thing.

Sounds good. I finished the run animation last night, and plan on doing the attack tonight. I will post them when I am done with the attack. Thanks.

I think the paint shop pro tube convertor runs seperate from the trail, if you go to the folder that you downloaded it to, it should be its own program.

I will also need the FXM and hopefully the PAL as generated by Flicster so I can recompile them back to flc to see if the palette works.

Thanks for offering to do this unit for me. Don't hate me for this, but, I went ahead and redownloaded PSP and converted the images over to flcs. I noticed there were some errors in the images I posted earlier. a few frames where I missed the civ color on the back. well, I fixed those and put the whole thing together. hope you didn't spend too much time on this so far.

Sorry bout this. I guess I am just too impatient. Hope this doesn't prevent you from offering to help me in the future.

i am going to post the finished grunt unit in the units forum. please take a look at it and let me know if it works properly.

Don't worry about it. While I downloaded all the files, I am still in the office So I have yet to start working on them.

Glad to hear you will be finishing this unit, guess I will finally have a new animation for my modern infantries.
