I am beggining work on a V-22 Osprey Tilt-Rotor Helicopter. It Will not have the "Wet Paint" Scheme that Wrymshadow said about my units on it. It will actually look pretty good! I am just wondering whether to tilt the Prop Rotors of this aircraft on the Run and leave them vertical on the Default, or to just leave them tilted on Both. If I made the two variations, ZIt would be similar to my Tupolev Blackjack bomer I previously posted. It would alternate between the two on bombing runs. This is a stupid bug in Civ-3 that doesn't allow you to have different default and run animations for an air unit. Currently I just have the Default with the Rotors Tilted. What attack animation should it have? What death animation should it have? I am not the best at animations, so it may take a while!

BTW, I can speed up the rotors if you want.

Should I post this or not?
Here it is:

I'm highly impressed, this looks good! My suggestion for this is to have it w/Vertical rotars for the default and horizontal ones for the run. As for its usefullness, would make a great modern helicopter! Replace the Chanook (sp is wrong, i know) just fine. I have a suggestion though, all the Osprey that I've seen have been white, not green, but that's just summin I'm gonna need to deal with if you don't change it. Question though: Where are the civ-specific colors gonna be?
Death should be it exploding (I can think of a more fun one, but that's just me being weird and yah...) Or make it fall out of the sky and explode on the ground. As for attack, I'm not sure, a machine gun somewhere should suit it fine. No boombing for this, it's main prupose is to replace helicopters.

What do you mean for the fidget? Can I use a different animation for the fidget and it will play all the time (except bombing runs)? This would be extremely helpful for my blackjack as well as the V-22! Production is going ahead of schedule and I can make this by tommorow (I hope). The problem is the tilt rotor, I can't get the model to work! I think I will just have the Tilted Rotor Animations instead of both. So, The V-22 will look like a plane (The Same it looks in the picture).
Here's the animation of the V-22 attacking (its lame, but the only weapons the V-22 carries are 2 .50 caliber machine guns and keep in mind that the green is converted into smoke by civ-3).
BTW, Which units should I make now:
Boeing X-32 JSF
747 Jumbo Jet (Maybe even Air Force One)
S-37 (Su-47) Berkut (with a Blue Camo, completely different than Wyrmshadows)
MiG-29 (Not Civ-3 Default Jet Fighter)
F/A-18E Super Hornet
New B1-B Lancer
Concorde
Ka-52 Alligator
Rah-66 Comanche!!!(Unfortunately, this one is not very detailed, bieng that the texture on the model is basicaly black with a dark yellow cockpit (when size is reduced to civ-3 standard it looks like a pure black copter!)
Mig-23 Flogger

These units are to be made upon request, so please request them to be made:D !!!:cool: :p

Yes -- although normally aircraft don't have a fidget animation. For example, here's the .ini for the F-15:

[Animations]
BLANK=
DEFAULT=F15Default.flc
WALK=
RUN=F15Run.flc
ATTACK1=F15AttackA.flc
ATTACK2=
ATTACK3=
DEFEND=
DEATH=F15Death.flc
DEAD=
FORTIFY=
FORTIFYHOLD=
FIDGET=
VICTORY=F15Bomb.flc
TURNLEFT=
TURNRIGHT=
BUILD=
ROAD=

If you were to model the Osprey as a straightforward aircraft unit, then the fidget wouldn't apply. If, however, you were to consider it a helicopter-type unit (and use any of the various schemes floating about to better simulate choppers as combat units) then a separate fidget could be in order.

Best,

Oz

Yeah that looks killer and should be a fun unit. Should be a long range large troop or vehicle transport, and belive it or not this thing has a lot of armor and could take a pounding from ground fire or anti-aircraft, also could loose one motor and the other one could power both props via join drive line or something, at least the military version... yeah they have a civilian version too, that will fly from city to city with roof top landing so the air port can be sidestepped, kinda cool

Here's th Fidget Animation. I will only have it fidget in one direction because it would literally take years for me to make it in all 8 directions.:D :p This preview is not the complete Fidget though. In the Final Product, i hope to have it hover as well as have vertical rotors. it will be ready very soon!!
Here's the basic fidget without it hovering:

Well, that was fast. I got it to hover. Still it will only be in the South Direction.
