Unit promotion problem

Any idea or what line in XML is missing that my unit can earn xp but not gain promotions. It can get promotions when i create the unit from the xp given from buildings etc but it does not earn promotions through combat however it does gain xp through combat. The Level and experience bar are both missing

promotions are by group - melee, ranged, siege, etc, so you've either missed it out or mis-spelled it

as it pertains to VP it appears they have done away with Helicopter Unit instead changing there combat class to ARCHER? there is no Ranged Combat class I changed the class to Archer like VP has done to helicopter units. It was finally on the correct promotion change i checked VIA IGE but it does not gain them through combat only exp in combat the exp bar and level are gone.

VP makes such fundamental changes to the game that you'd probably be better off asking for guidance in the sub-forum for VP. Most of us who are active in the main Creation / Customization forum don't really use VP and aren't very familiar with the myriad of differences between it and the non-VP game.

That having been said, do you have error logging enabled (whoward69's enable error logging tutorial) ? If not you should do so. If you do have error logging enabled is there anything showing in the Database.log file when you run your mod that is not there when you disable your mod and run the game ?

Well they were no help at all. VP aside heres my problem

We have a unit that gains exp and promotions through combat in the abrams tank. you can see an xp bar and level. then you have the apache on the other hand no level or exp bar and only gains promotions through IGE.
