It is in my subject line, although I apparently got dyslexic on the first two word.
Questions tend to have question marks.
I don't understand why I can't end my units movement phase when I have MP left over. I was in a valid spot.
I can find skip turn just fine, but it is greyed out, and It is mislabeled as I don't want to end my turn. Just end movement phase. So it sounds useless in controls menu.
Were you in the tutorial?
By dumbed down, I mean it looks and plays like a phone app. There are very few controls. They can all be done with the mouse. There are many more, but this is the point I'm making on controller.
No it doesn't. There are plenty of controls, it sounds like you're just not used to it.
Using a traditional controller as a mouse is a horrifying experience.
Not sure why link doesn't work for you. It is fine. It just shows a Steam controller bundled with Civ 6. So it's ready to play out of the box with a controller.
We're probably from different regions in the steam store.
Again, the steam controller is designed to be used with computer games that require a keyboard and mouse. You can play football manager with the steam controller. Again, if you want to prove it's "console ready" do a stream playing the game with a Xbox 360 controller.
Steam controller is just another game controller. But upon further looking it works with SteamOS (i.e. Linux) I assume it can be programmed under Windows as well. The controller is only capable to work on certain dumbed down games that aren't too complicated to work on a controller. You just can't get it to work on any game. Not fully anyway.
No it is not. Have you ever used one? They are a literal replacement for keyboard and mouse controls. It is capable of use on all games, not dumbed down ones. You're just wrong on this one.
I'm not sure what distance to monitor has to do with anything?
The UI is tiny on this game. On a screen while playing a console from a couch it would be unreadable, it is designed solely for PC players. Mobile apps and console games are ironically characterised by large UIs that are easily read, something this game most assuredly doesn't have.
Steam controller aren't vastly different. It's 90% the same. It's more programmable and has a couple extra features. But there is still no keyboard for the more sophisticated games. This game doesn't need a keyboard, so I see nothing holding it back from being on a console.
No, it is not 90% the same. I'm guessing you've never handled one. It is about as far from a traditional controller as putting your hands through a mincer is from playing chess.
You can play with Civ IV and V without a keyboard you know. Right now it just sounds like you're unfamiliar with the controls and whinging about it.
What things do you think will keep this from working on a Controller only?
The fact that most things are two odd clicks away, and designed for use with a mouse. Doing that with a joystick or dpad would be terrible. Something that "only works with a mouse" as you describe it is the exact opposite of something that works well on a console. The steam controller's touchpads remove that issue, but again, that's a vastly different control style.
Again, if you're so sure of yourself, set up some custom controls and play a stream of Civ VI with an Xbox 360 controller, prove your point.
I have no controller, I have only a PC with keyboard and mouse.
So... in other words you're talking about a steam controller without knowing what it's like, and more traditional controllers without knowing what they're like. Good going there.
I just googled civ6 on consoles and everyone is already wanting it. Most say as I do that this is definitely planned for consoles with all the dumbed down graphics for the kids and simplified game play. I really just see nothing to stop it. Especially with xbone already switching to win10.
People want all sorts of things on consoles, doesn't mean they're ready made for them.
Most don't say that, the general "this is the worst Civ" ever made crowd that come out after every major release are saying that, but of course Civ III was the worst Civ game ever made, until that cartoony mess we called Civ IV came out, and was the worst Civ game ever made before that cut down dumbed down mess that was Civ V was released, which was of course terrible until... It happens everytime.
What I love about all the "cartoony" stuff is that the most cartoony of the series was Civ IV, yet people idolise that now as they're used to it, despite it having some of the worst balance and technical issues of the series, right up to Beyond the Sword (which required a community made patch to be playable for many).
The gameplay isn't simplified, nor are the graphics. But again, facts and reality don't seem to be material to this discussion. Change is scary.
