From the science and civic trees revealed we can see the various units which will possibly be included in the game.

Although in general the combat units are the same (personally not very fond of too many types of them, especially in the late game), there are now some "civilian" units found in the tech trees. Apart from the archaeologist, we can also find the medic, the (military) engineer and the ecologist(?). What do you think their purpose will be? Have they been shown in any video yet?

Furthermore, are there any guesses on the combat unit types and their evolution with the techs? For example, how are the catapult and the siege tower units differentiated? Is it like melee and archer units, but for cities?
 
Would be cool if ecologist could change tile biomes, turn desert to grassland, Spread jungles and forest. Or there are some pollution mechanism in the game that they can mitigate. Or they are not ecologist but rather agronoms/biologist and can spread bonus resources like rice and cows.
