It becomes a little bit more difficult with the 511 season (GOTM's 27-37). Only one player played all those games Arnold_T. If we agree that:

• to be included you must play more than the half of the games of a season (in this case 6 or more)
• your 6 best submissions count for the ranking

I think the problems of not submitting a bad game is then solved as only your x best number of games count. Also everybody is counted for the same number of games, so this really brings out a comparable score:

I like this one because I am ranked 13th, which is the perfect exaggeration of my playing ability.

nice work AlexAdam! you might want to consider the methodology used by the civ4 gotm global ranking, which you can find here

I think it uses the 10 latest games and weights the most recent ones more than the older ones.
