Upgrading obsolete Units

Question: is it posible in Civ CTP to upgrade obsolete units? How do you do that?

In CTP1? I never heard that there is a finished script for it. But in CTP2 there is a unit updater script. You should visit Apolyton, since it covers CTP1 and CTP2 it is a real civ site.
