Now this is just stupid. Is Firaxis really going to believe that it takes a city about 10 turns to build a mechanised infantry unit, whereas by upgrading an infantry unit in the city, it can INSTANTLY train and equip a mech-inf unit..in one turn.
That above statement had plenty of holes in it. One argument is that with the infantry, soldiers did not need to be conscripted or recruited. Another would be that the money paid for the vehicles, the men were already there. Whatever.
There should be an "Upgrading period" for a unit. For example, an infantry unit upgrading to a mech infantry unit should only take 1 turn, mech infantry is pretty much just infantry in cars and hummers ect. Where as upgrading a rifleman to mech infantry should take 2 turns because the infantrymen need to be reissued rifles, armour and trained in their usage ect, and so on.
Just a thought I had.
