Uranium not in my resource box?

Please, for the love of god, tell me you're not trading your one and only source of Uranium to another civ.

Uranium becomes visible (and hence can be mined) when you invent Scientific Method. However you cannot use it until you invent Fission, and it looks like you're a long way from that. It won't show up in your resource box until you have that tech.

Thank you, I had forgotten that and it doesn't say anything about that in the civlopedia for Fission. I was actually only 3 turns away from Fission and it did show up in the resource box then.

So if another civ has a resource such as iron, it wont show up under his resources if he's trading it with another civ?

One of the most asked questions on these forums: "I have a uranium mine and a road to it but I have no available uranium." Answer: You need fission.

They should have it if you have uranium mined and you're using the tile, you should get like a 35% boost for researching fission.

Okay, I'm 99% sure that resources do not affect research rate directly.

Yes, that research bonus isn't the case now, but honestly, if I'm mining uranium, I think my odds of thinking, "Oh, what if I chain react it" is higher than if I have no knowledge of uranium. I was just rambling on about something that'd be an interesting add-on.
