Being new to this site, I am not sure if I will going over old ground but...

Has anyone ever seen Uranium in a Civ 2 game?

Nearly every city demands it but no one supplies it.

Ps I was once sad enough to play a game where the spaceship returns from alpha Centauri in 2310.

Never checked. Maybe you need nukes to supply it (complete guess)?

SPACESHIP RETURNS?!?!?! Really?!

Good point. It is listed as a commodity in the Civ. Editors menu (GME), but I don't know where you can find it terrain wise. Maybe someone who knows what they're talking about can enlighten us?

Consider a career in Hippo Taming.

In MGE many cites supply it after the appropriate tech for using it a obtained. Then number of cities supplying it steadily increases.

So Spaceman Spiff,

Am I the first to get the spaceship back?

It was a dark and stormy night and I decided to nuke the world to try and get the entire world in Global warming. Just to see if the sea level would actually rise. It didn't and I fell asleep during overtime at work.

I must post the spaceship return on the main pages.

What about NON. Settlers/units that depend on NON for resources after 80?+ cities built. Is that common knowledge?

I have the whole world terraformed except for one enemy city (in the 20th century). I have probably had about 7 cargoes of Uranium. It seems to me that this was found a little more among my cities along the polar ice caps. Not sure about that though.

i have seen uranium once, in a deity game, where my city had a huge science output.

I don't know if this is the cause (it's probably not), but when I first started playing, I didn't build any Caravans until 1900's. WHen I started building them, 5+ cities had uranium!

Uranium gets to be pretty common in the modern times, as long as your cities aren't too busy with other things. Of course, "common" means that maybe two percent of your cities have it.
Don't be fooled: There is more demand for uranium, and it's easier to find a good caravan destination, but it doesn't pay as much as others. By the way, what's the upper limit on revenue? I'm up to 900 in my record book, which is REALLY HARD. I'm thinking 1000, but I'll probably have to revise that. At first, I thought 600, then 700, 720, 800, 840, and 900!

Feel free to criticize my porr speelings.
DO NOT ask me why I'm like this.

I am playing now and have terraformed both polar ice caps and have about 20-25 cities along the edge. I have just had 4 new suppliers of Uranium from among these cities. Not all my Uranium has come from there but I am beginning to see a correlation. It's correct that they really don't pay as much as they should though. Gold doesn't seem to provide a high reward either.
My highest caravan was 900+. I don't remember what it was. I think it might have been oil, definately not what I would have thought was a valuable cargo (gold, uranium, etc.)

I have had around 2000 gold bonus from a unranium caravan sent around the world (by aiport) between large developed cities on differen land masses.

Still playing: After the year 2000 a bunch of cities begin to supply Uranium. The problem is it doesn't pay much and the demand seems to be going away. Maybe I've entered some kind of post-nuclear solar age.

I usualy always play after my spaceship makes it to the other planet until I Rule the world!
