Hi guys,

Hope this is the right place to post this. I was playing 'Age of Discovery' for the first time and REALLY enjoying it :)! The problem is that I get to 1565 and the game CRASHES :(! The reason is because it can't find the Quetzal Bowman.ini file (and, might I add, neither can I!!) Can anyone tell me if they have had the same problem and, if whether you have or not, could someone PLEASE post a copy of that file in this thread so that I can continue my game?

BTW, I tried re-installing the game from scratch, and that didn't help either :(!

Posting the ini file would be piracy, sorry.

Reinstall would be my best bet - but you said it didn't work, huh?

I believe the Quetzal Bowman is also in the MesoAmerica Conquest - did you try seeing if there is an ini file for its folder, or does it share the same one?

And, for last resort, you could always try creating an .ini file (in Notepad) by looking at others to see how they work and what the pattern is. :)

Nope, absolutely NO unit art in Mesoamerican conquest AT ALL :(! This really sucks-I' played Mesoamerica in its entirety without problems-so I am wondering why I am having a problem with 'AofD'! I'm thinking of trying to download the plumed archer from the download site, and using that instead!

Have you fixed the problem yet??

No, I haven't had a chance to fix it yet :(! I looked through my hard drive again for the Quetzal Archer.ini file, but to no avail!! I am going to download the plumed archer today, and give it a shot tonight when I get home-I will let you know how it goes! If it doesn't work, then it looks like I'll be playing Diablo II again tonight!

Oh and, btw, I wasn't aware that posting a single file constitued piracy-I do apologise for making that suggestion!

I had a problem with a missing file one time that may help. My system did a chkdisk and replaced a corrupt file with a backup. The problem is that the backup was using the short filename form (8.3 form) so the game didn't recognize it. Simply renaming the file to the expected name solved the problem.

why is it piracy to post the ini file?its one puny file that isnt a game, program or ANYTHING by itself.its like stealing dust or mud from fort knox and saying its a crime.

This stuff happens with the pirated download version of Conquests. You will also experience similar problems in other conquest scenarios if you have this "version".

According to the forum rules, piracy is not tolerated. So you must look and ask somewhere else.

You can now say it is an original, but who shall believe you?

civ is very bad at restoring files-on my comp at least it will not ever replace files i removed.i had to install it on another comp then import the files just to make it work again
