I was seeing what Chivalry cost (2900 gold) on my current Sid HoF game in 190 BC. I accidentally clicked "would you accept?" instead of "never mind".

Could I possibly be granted some sort of allowance to backup to earlier in the turn (I saved earlier in the turn)? Losing that much gold which I have worked so hard to save, and considering I've robbed all their banks, Chivalry would not sell around for more than 300 gold or so. Especially since this is Sid level, and I need the money soon for upgrades to Cavalry. In addition, I don't even need Chivalry, I was just looking to see if it was cheap (thus using it to buy Invention).

I know what might be said... "tough luck". But it was a true accident and I hope I'm allowed.

Sincerely,
Elear

I'm sorry, but it's out of the question. Games have to be played only once through, mistakes accidents and all.

For determining tech costs and what such, you might want to consider using CRpSuite or CivAssistII. Both are great utilities!

I understand.

I actually do use the whole CRPsuite. I didn't see any of way of telling how much the AI actually wanted for each tech, however.

Actually, I respect your decision on the other hand. It can't be easy telling people things like this.

I'm going to push on, and see if I can recover my losses.

for what it's worth, elear - that sounds like a recoverable error. And it means you can start building knights, which cost less to upgrade. it is disappointing...

I once was playing a 20K gauntlet game, on demigod. 10 turns or so until I win, game well in hand... I decide to plant a spy in russia. Cathy caught me and immediately declared. It wasn't so bad until a marine unit walked into my unguarded capitol/wonder city.... but I managed to recover.

No, I can't use knights in this game. It's probably too late. Everyone will be near rifles and defintely muskets and such, by the time I can BUILD those 50 horseman and take gold to upgrade them (need 5000 gold and a number of turns to get 50 horses). It seems... long time. Why not just go for cavalry?

The tech rate with 7 scientific civs is through the roof. They are seriously getting new techs in 5 to 6 turns at this point, and trading around, and we're not even at universities. Heck, I just bought Literature and traded it around. So they are only just getting libraries. Chivalry and Invention were discovered both within the last 7 or 8 turns and traded around. Theology and Gunpowder are a matter of turns away as well.

Then again, knights *could* work, I'm not sure, I will have to examine how fast I can build 50 horseman.

I have a plan, however. ;)
