USAF to win XP ???

If someone had played USAF on win XP please tell me if there is a patch and from where to download or sth like that. When I try to start it it just stops without being not responding. So if one has some sugestions feel free to say them or maybe some similar experience with other games. For discusions I won't mind if someone say his tips or ask questions but I am not good player and haven't played it for some time so I cannot answer or have view in some complicated topics. But there could be others who can answer so ... ask !!!
If someone don't know what is USAF it is one of the best Airplane simulators I have ever played. Maybe Lock On is the only one which could be better and of which I have been informed (I haven't plaied but I was told it is great). Be sure if you like this type of games you will like USAF.

a game by Jane's I believe? I haven't played that game in years, and that was on my old Windows 98 computer

Yes! It is United States Air Force and is by Jane's. Did you like it, WildFire and do you play any other games like it?

I have it and I love it, but unfortunately it's a long time since I last played it, and currently a friend borrows it, so I can't remember whether I've played it on my XP computer... It works fine for the guy who's borrowing it now, and I believe he has XP. I think he had some problems making it run in the beginning, but now it works fine.

If the XP issues are well known, I'm sure it's not too hard to find an XP patch on the net somewhere.
