You would have to find out the SMTP address type thing for hotmail, then go on tools(in outlook express), accounts, add, mail, Enter the SMTP thing for hotmail, and yer address. Then it should work.
It's really simple. Just open up Outlook Express and then go to "tools" then click on "accounts." Click "add" then click "mail..."
It will ask you to enter a name. Enter your name as you want people to see when you send emails (ie: John Smith).
Then enter your email address (ie: someone@hotmail.com ) and then just click next and next again. It will set up your account automatically because it's an http server - there is no SMTP setup required with hotmail accounts under outlook express. Outlook is another story however.
It will ask you if you want to download the custom folders from the server - say yes - this will download any custom folders you created through hotmail.

I have done it a few times now
one thing problem I have had though the way I had my internet connection setup it was going through a proxy server and this some how interfeared with outlok express logging on and getting my mail
