Using production for science victory

simple question: I am playing Germany. I am building some nice CH / Hansa synergies and should soon have lots of production.

I have also intentionally not chopped a bunch of woods and stone to use later for max benefit - except I don’t know what that is!

What should I be building with these high production cities to speed up my science victory? The science city project? What should I spend the chop hammers on? Wonders? Or is it ok to dump them into districts and buildings?

Thank you kindly

1.You should’ve starting by rushing to rocketry and the moon landing.during this rush you save faith or gold so you can buy the spaceport when you get there.this spaceport can be anywhere and have no buildings, the main thing it needs is chop. This spaceport is the chopping spaceport with ideally 9-10 forests or equivalent, more is better. Get Reyna/Moksha in the city 5 turns before you discover rocketry so the moment you get it you can buy the spaceport and then swap in Magnus for 5 turns until you get moon landing when you basically chop in satellites and moon landing all in one turn (perhaps 1 charge builders on each forest).

2.Your culture will then get a super boost that will hopefully get you to the International Space Station (ISS) which is part of Globalization. Here the ISS card will give +5% science for each suzerain so your sciencece will then rocket up and you can get to the mars colony and beyond.

2.5 All through point 2 which is quite a few turns you now build/buy spaceports, ideally where there are spaceports/Military academies and start getting 7 charge builders and build the royal society at democracy.

3 and beyond, use your spaceports to get out into space and speed up your travels with builders in the spaceports due to the royal society special ability. Pingala helps as does Hong Kong or a modern engineer I forget the name of ATM.

EDIT: Here is a first rocket city being prepped up. Placed early enough and with trade routes is can be a useful city and not just a wooden rocket factory. Maori has an issue in they canot harvest stone or deer so you can end up with cities like this that are just going to make 10 chops. Other civs are a bit easier.

Right they come way after they did irl...

All I know was Wernie was INSPIRED by Goddard, so that means he must come oilier.

What has Wernie got to do with the Information Age.

That's a good question. And the answer is that a huge amount of the information age is directly created by the space race. And what doesn't directly come from the advances of the race comes from the fruit of it. Satellites for example.

I'm not sure If that was what they intended though.
