V1.29 change: The Magic AI barb maps are gone

In V1.21 and prior, the AIs used to have mystic visionary powers to see every barbarian camp in the world even if those camp locations where in regions beyond where the AI had a world map.

When you would trade world maps with the an AI player, this would update your world map as well and all the barb camps would be revealed to you so that it would be easier to hunt them down.

This was one way that we could turn around one of the blatant AI cheat advantages and use it to help our side of the play.

Now when the AI trades you a map, it does not update the locations of the barb camps except when these are clearly visible to the AI players units or towns.

So this exploit seems to have been eliminated.

Anyone else been able to confirm this feature of the patch??

Since all these items seem to be in the undocumented section of the V1.29 patch, we are sort of guessing as to what may have been changed until we confirm it from multiple sources.
 
Hmmmm, if that measn the AI doesn't get the info either it is fine with me. But I suspect they still get it. :(

I have just been playing a game w/ barbs and the maps still work.

I think the thing that changed is that the barbs always move first. That is, before you and after the AI. This means the AI maps won't be up to date since the barbs moved just before your turn and new camps won't be on the AI maps.

This is my take on the situation.
