1). On the Civics screen it says that using Police State there will be no war-weary red faces. So, having just been invaded, I switched to this form of government. On checking, a few turns later, I found that 8 (of 19) red faces in a city were attributed to war weariness. How come ?
2). Except in newly-founded cities with very low production, the figures given on the City Screen are always higher than those shown in the Domestic Adviser screen, and the turns-to-build figure never agrees with either, even allowing for the unshown building bonuses which may be present such as "double speed with Marble". One case which I checked :- building a Factory, cost 250 hammers, of which there might have been a small overflow carried over from previous building. City screen showed 35 hammers, building in 9 turns (meaning a rate of 28 hammers per turn): Dom.Adv. showed 26 hammers, which would mean 10 turns: actual building took 11 turns, during which nothing had changed in the stagnant city.
Similarly, the science output is always lower on the Dom.Adv. than the City screen.

1)Police state doesn't remove war weariness entirely, it merely reduces it by 50%. it is still possible to remove it entirely by building Mount Rushmore (-25%) and jails in every city (-25% in that city). Once you've done this you can stay at war as long as you like.

2)I don't think the domestic advisor allows for forge, factory and civic bonuses either, and chopping also seems to confuse it. The numbers in the city screen are generally more reliable and useful.

1).So why does the Civics screen SAY no war weariness?

I repeat and confirm that in my game it says NO war weariness. Sorry, no screenshot as I don't have the game available for a day or so, to my sorrow - and anyway I'm not verysure how to get one, though I know the info is on the forum somewhere.

Are you running on an old version of the game? It might have been clarified with 1.52.

2)I've never known the turns to build that it actually displays to be wrong, so I rely on them. Remember that production will carry over from one job to the next, so you can't simply divide the cost of the improvement by the hammer production of the city to get the turn number.

Well, here's the problem - it says "-50% WW" when you're not using it, but the text changes to "no WW" after you adopt it. So you both are right, in a way... :crazyeye:
