V1.61---Religion Movies Cause CTD

V1.52 works perfectly on my computer, but when I installed V1.61, I am unable to play the game....When I found a religion, I hear the music that plays with the movie, but the movie does not appear on the screen...Then the game freezes, and I get the dreaded CTD...

I have no Mods installed on my computer, and I cleared out the cache....I have a laptop that plays V1.61 perfectly, so I'm not worried about it...and I can just install 1.52 on my desktop and play just as well...My only concern is that I assume I won't be able to play the expansion pack on my desktop, as it seems not to be 1.61 compatible....Any suggestions?

The movies can be turned off in the in game options if they are causing problems.
