I have a few questions about the vampirism promotion. If I am correct it gives the ability to feast on city population to replenish health? How many city pop per HP for this?

Also it says you can feed off other units, what exactly does this do?

I used to have the same confusion. It is feeding on a unit that gives health, and the ability to attack again if that unit is a bloodpet.
Feasting gives the vampire experience. I'm not sure how much exactly offhand, but it is a very powerful ability.

I think it's something like the current population - 2 points of experience.

its the pop of the city minus one but it only consumes one population so if it took over a hyborem super sity with 200 pop then first it would get 199 then 198 since it can feast as much as it wants a turn down to any population then 197 196 195 194 and so on

Heh, now that's some incentive to take a class on calculus. Figure out how much experience your vampire will get from a city of x size before depleting it.

Nonsense! A vampire always needs more experience!

*Munches on the general populace*

Does it have to be a bloodpet? I seem to remember feeding on slaves and workers to attack multiple times with my vampires in my last Calabim game. I didn't gain any movement points though.

IIRC it is 'current pop -4' and not -1 XP per feast.
You need at least a city the size of 5 to get any XP out of it.

No, you can feast on a size four city to get XP; I routinely ate captured cities into nothing with my Vampire/Werewolf Flesh Golems (that was fun!) in my last Calabim game, but I couldn't eat the population down below 3. That leads me to believe its either pop size -3 or -2.

If you get (CurrentPop-y) experience then you'll get the sum over i from 0 to (x-y) of (x-i-y) experience, discounting any regrowth of the city. That's the same as (x-y)^2 minus the sum of the first (x-y) integers, which evaluates to:

(x-y)^2 - 0.5(x^2 + y^2 + x - y)

(I think - it's 12.30 in the morning.)

If we can decide what y is, then that can be simplified a lot since it's a constant. Incidentally, no calculus involved, just a bit of algebra.

Pretty much is the main reason I get infernals in, let them grow as they can and then attack them and eat my way to heaven!
