All "scenarios" should be explicitly based on the Pit's Earth (aka Solar System) Map.

Here's one idea that could be fun to fool around with.
1. Remove all civs except one - yours (you can choose or even move its location).
2. Give that civ Neanderthal culture (lol). And NO OTHERS, hehehe.
3. Self-impose to never build (and delete those auto-appearing) units that aren't Neanderthals or Animals.
4. Never build Ellis Island (free European culture) or anything with the similar effect (I haven't checked yet).
5. Play with no Barb Civs, OR never capture a city that has "human" culture in it. But former is better.
6. You CAN play with Neanderthal Cities, lol. After all, YOURS is one as well.
7. Ignore #1. Show those pesky Hoo-Mans what the REAL Apemen are made of! CHAAARGEEE!!!

Sound like it could be the point of the Neanderthal Civ even if not that different currently? I'm curious if other human species are going in because I don't think it's fair the Neanderthal have a monopoly of being the "Caveman" given everything we know.

I challenge I just thought up an hour ago would be the Sparta challenge.
1. Be Sparta (Greek, I wish I could be an alternate color)
2. Accumulate as many slaves as possible in Sparta.
3. Be historical with civics
4. Invade everything before the slavery malus cripple

Being Aztec got old.

I think there is a separate Spartan civ in the bundle, though it might need to be adjusted for current SVN (if not done yet).

NEW challenge:
Never BUILD a unit beyond a single Explorer (can be replaced at death).
For Super Mega Extreme difficulty - never build even that (that way you'd need to have neighbors to get units, lol)..
That means ANY unit, for whatever purpose.
Yes, it WILL cripple your sailing, but you can still BUY units from other civs, loool!

OLD note:
The Neanderthal challenge is buggy, because it obsoletes already in Ancient.
You still COULD limit yourself to Animals-only, though.
But without crippling yourself by not building cultures.
MWAHAHAHA!!!

I've been making the City of Sparta as dystopian as possible. I think specialist slaves don't have as many bonuses applied to them. Bounty hunter promotion is useful, except for with criminals where it doesn't work(the captive don't have hidden nationality). It's been such a weird game. Doing it on SVN.

I have a lot of ideas based on history, but no one want to be unironically complacent China.

Good Guy Persia:
Be Zoroastrian. Be as anti-slavery as possible. There's not a lot in the game where you can impose abolition at this moment, so I don't think this will be that interesting. How do I even gauge how well I'm doing.

And there's some under appreciated bad guys
Imperial Japan(don't forget the Japanese inquisition)
Aztecs
Spain, which is usually considered the worst of the European colonizers. "Let's have a caste system"

If Terrain Damage comes back, there's Russia and various others. There's also keeping historical civics(I'm counting Sparta as a Matriarchy, and am avoiding Despotism)
