Ok – there's been quite a number of times now where I've had to go hunting for our finalized peace treaties or tech arrangements with other teams.
So I'm borrowing an idea from Fe3333au in the first MTDG, and will start collecting all of our treaties and such in this thread.

Feel free to post ideas here about things that should be added!

Hope everyone finds this helpful… especially our valued new members!

ExODAT (Exchange on Demand Alliance of Technology) Treaty
Agreed Upon: Turn 216/ August 30th, 2008
Spoiler :

"ExODAT" (Exchange On Demand Alliance of Technology) :D

--------------
Article 1: Nuclear Non Aggression
Saber and The Council both agree to never ever use a nuclear weapon on each other no matter what, as long as there are other teams existing on the map.

Article 2: Tech Plan
Any technology that either team acquires will be available to the other team upon demand in exchange for either of the following:
1) Any other Modern Age tech plus 25% of the difference in beaker cost. (paid by the team offering the cheaper tech)
2) 60% of the Monopoly Price in gold

Article 3: Exclusivity
* No modern era techs may be traded/sold/gifted outside of the alliance for any reason without express permission of the other team.
* This restriction continues to apply after the deal ends to any tech researched by the other team while the deal was in effect.
* No technology, from any era, will be traded/sold/gifted outside of the alliance to any team that is at war with either Saber or The Council

Article 4: Cancellation
* If either team wishes to withdraw from this "Exchange On Demand" trading scheme, they must provide 10 turns of notice to the other team. During the ensuing 10 turns, technologies may still be demanded for exchange as outlined in Article 2.
* Cancellation of the trading arrangement is a separate matter from the peace/war status of the teams.

We're looking forward to hearing back from you!

We also probably need to talk about what to do with FREE – now that they've wiped out GONG and effectively doubled their landmass. How goes the war with BABE? Any chance of changing targets?
Let us know!

All the best,

Your favorite Allies ;)
General_W, speaking with the voice of The Council

Received 8/28/08
Dear Councillors,

Thanks for sending your latest counter proposal.

Basically we would agree to that. We just want to clarify one thing:

The team that offers a technology may choose the kind of payment, like
"We want this or that technology", or "We want the money".

If you agree to this, we can finalize our ExODAT treaty quickly.

What do you think of this?

With kind regards,
Calis of the SABERs

We agreed.

Received 8/30/2008
Dear friends of The Council,

We are happy to inform you that we regard the deal as agreed upon!!

We do not regard a formal agreemant as necessary.

With kind regards,

Calis of the SABERs

Peace Treaty
Agreed: Turn 99

Spoiler :

Peace Treaty
Agreed: Turn 197

Spoiler :

* We sign a peace treaty between us to last 40 turns, which can of course be renewed.
* The Council will send dyes and gems to BABE for the duration of the peace treaty.
* BABE will cede the cities of BABEcolony and Oka to the Council, will evacuate all units from SCI and will teach the Council the secrets of military tradition.

Agreed by BABE on turn 197 - per Letter from Whomp:
Since I'm the only one making decisions we'll take this deal. We (I) would like to know if you intend on doing anything with Free.

Reserved for GONG Vault:

Alas - we hardly knew ye! And never did sign a formal deal.
Rest In Peace
:salute:

... And welcome to The Council!... :D

Invasion Analysis:
Spoiler :

Some nice discussion here! I would like to continue on Donsig's earlier work in predicting where any invasion from BABE would come from. To that end I have produced the following two tactical maps: -

Eastern View
overview.jpg

Western View
WestOverview.jpg

On the eastern view map I have included Donsig's predicted sea lane linking our east coast to Alpha Continent. The black line in this area shows the eastern limit of tiles we have already explored (by a combination of exploration of both FREE's and our own coast), all the tiles explored immediately west of the black line have been ocean tiles. I think it is very important to know whether this sea lane actually exists or not, I therefore propose we send the the galley Aerok on a very dangerous mission as indicated by the red arrow, this will of course run the risk of losing a valuable galley however I think the price for this information would be worth it.

If we find there is no sea lane then we can perhaps breath a little easier, I have indicated on the maps the available routes (assuming no sea lane found) they would have in reaching us depending upon whether BABE are located on Alpha or Beta continent.

Turn 245: Jet based EWS [Early Warning System]
Spoiler :

From Donsig:

Here's the EWS plan that Yilar made. We have 4 airfields, I'll call them:
  • N (next to The Aerie)
  • E (next to The Igloo)
  • S (in the triangle formed by The Treasury, The Pier and The New Yard)
  • W (next to the Dislodged)
According to Yilar's plan 2 jets should be in N and 6 in each of the others. The actual disposition of our fighters is:
  • N: 4
  • The Aerie: 1
  • E: 2
  • The Admiralty:2
  • S: 3
  • The Institute: 2
  • W: 5
  • The Arboretum: 1
So, here is my best guess as to how we cover the EWS area:
  • N: 2 for N, 1 for E, 1 for W
  • The Aerie: 1 for E
  • E: 2 for E
  • The Admiralty: 2 for E
  • S: 3 for S
  • The Institute: 2 for S
  • W: 5 for W
  • The Arboretum: 1 for S

EDIT: No that guess won't work.
The jet in the Arboretum cannot reach any of Yilar's proposed points.
There are 4 jets in the Northern airfield that can reach only 3 of Yilar's points.
The 7 jets in the Western airfield and The Institute can reach 7 points but one of these overlaps with one the that can be reached from the Northern airfield.

Whats with the map

That, my dear fellow Councilor, is the inspired work of several of our team mates – most notable Aigburth - who guessed at the nature of our world, and have been proved correct with every tile we've managed to reveal so far by exploration.

It's a serious edge for our team in understanding what this world looks like. :D

EDIT: Just open the save sometime, zoom out, and see for yourself how our explored territory matches the above map!

Were can i find the save.

:( I wish I had civ 3 complete and could open that...

Ah well, I think I might buy it at some point. But games are so expensive here...

How much are they. Btw have you considered inportingn a british version.

Also why don't we open up the save and hit retire to find out what the world looks like.

I don't think I'd want to play in this game if people could cheat like that. Actually they can technically, but I don't think their ethics will allow it. So we won't do that.

 ahem gentlemen...

could you please discuss things like that in an off-topic thread or anywhere else? :old:

Should we update the SABER vault with the DAB treaty images with the Saber seal?

Updated! Thanks for the reminder.

Updated! Also updated The Council Vault with more maps and analysis from Aigburth for easy future reference.
