Hello,

Me and two of my friends are playing CIV 5 on a regular basis and have run in to some strange problem.

When I or friend number 1 starts a multiplayer game, and the rest joins, it takes forever between turns right from the start of the game.

When friend 2 starts a game with the exact same options, it runs smooth as hell and there is no delay at all, even in large maps with alot of AI.

Here is the set up:

Me: i7 GPU, SSD-drive, Win10, 8GB RAM, 250mbit/s connection

Friend 1: i7 GPU, Win 10, 8GB RAM, 250mbit/s connection

Friend 2: Dual core, Win 10, 4GB RAM, 100mbit/s connection

Me and friend 1 that has the problem when hosting servers are running the exact same network provider. When we do a speedtest it says 250-270mbit/s and nothing is lagging apart from CIV5.

What can possibly be wrong here?

I mean, friend 2 can start a perfectly fine game with, by far, worse set up. So it can not have anything to do with the specs.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for all the help in advance!

could it be that the provider of Friend 2 does a better job of pearing with other providers ?
u could run a -traceroute to Friend 1 and Friend 2 and see where it does go

SOLVED!

We changed our routers from NAT and now we can connect at lightning speed and no drop-outs.
