As mentioned in another thread(think it is the Techtree thread?) some of the Victories are way to easy. So for now untill something more diverse can be devised, for the Space Race victory how about moving the Spaceship Parts to Wormhole Detection Array and Apollo Program a prereq for Wormhole Detection Array?

Culture Victory - I think the amount of tree's needed are a tad low, thought about increasing them to 9(3 per cat) or 12(4 per cat) instead of 5.

Timed Victory - From what I can fathom this is all set in GameSpeedTurns table which means its tied into the Pace selection(Quick, Normal, Epic, Marathon). So we can set this to what we like realy.

Diplomatic - No clue other than moving and renaming the UN to a later tech.

Alpha Centauri Mission should be required to build the Wormhole Detection Array. Diplomatic could be renamed to Global Federation, with the UN as a precursor which allows for certain resolutions to be passed (just like in Civ4) and perhaps even allowing for sanctions against other countries. UN Peacekeepers and UN Observers can be used to get rid of any remaining barbs (with the bill being footed by all members of the UN). These barbs should actually crop up from time to time in unstable countries.

I don't know when the Global Federation should be available, but we should not give into conspiracy theories and put it at Subliminal Mind Control, as that would make the victory look stupid. The Global Federation should function as follows : every turn, 1% of every member nation's armed forces will be transferred to the city in which the Global Federation project was built, which becomes a City-State, and 10% of every member's nuclear arsenal will be taken away. If 50% of every nation's armed forces are transferred to the newly created City-State, and no nuclear weapons exist, then the player who built the Global Federation wins a Diplomatic Victory. Victory progress can be interrupted in one of the following ways:
  1. The World Capital City-State is captured by another player, causing the Global Federation project to be destroyed, with another individual being able to pick it up.
  2. Someone else wins through another method.
  3. Alien contact occurs (throwing the world into disarray).

If Alien contact occurs, there should be a path to a Contact Victory of some sort, as I have mentioned earlier. Diplomatic victory should also be possible in a post-contact scenario, being more likely if the extraterrestrial civilization turns out to be malevolent.

I'd be interested in seeing an Alien Invasion event
