I've seen a breakdown on the site about how victory points are calculated in the game, but can't seem to find it in a search. Thinking of building the biggest civ and going for some time victories, just for variety. I know number of techs, wonders, etc, count, but what is the actual calculation?
Thanks in advance.

yeah score is pretty meaningless. Unless its super-fast (like a duel map warrior rush) then early victory doesn't really count for much at all. Having more population, land, and wonders will get the biggest score.

So to get the highest score possible, basically put off victory as long as possible and grow and conquer and build wonders. There's not really much of a point to doing this other than seeing a high score.

cities * 8 +
citizens * 4 +
tiles +
wonders * 25 +
techs * 4 +
future techs * 10

the hof score has that multiplied by an inverse of percent of game your finish date is. eg, if you finish on turn 250 in a standard game, the score gets multiplied by 2.

Awesome, thanks

nope. there is some scaling for map size but i'm not sure on the numbers. a duel map might give 2x score for each thing vs standard.

I wonder if the #turns calculation takes into effect the game speed? I ask because last night I won my earliest domination win (Immortal Difficulty, 1250 AD, standard map size, marathon) but the score was in the upper 2,000s whereas I've had 4,000-ish scores from much later domination wins (but I think on standard game speed).
