video crash

i just bought a new graphic card (nvidia geforce 6600GT). Im able to start up civ4, but when i start a game, after a couple of seconds the screen simply gets black and requires a manual reboot, ive downloaded the newest drivers etc. and the graphic card works fine on other games, i have no idea how to solve this problem, could anyone please help me?
